Who are we . . .
We are a group of concerned Pitcairn citizens
that want to help revitalize our community.

The following are some of the founders of this organization:

Doug and Virginia Crothers

Virginia married Doug in 1969 and moved to Pitcairn in 1971. They have 2 adult children, Rian and Anthony, and 2 grandchildren, Taylor and Julia.

Virginia has been a hairdresser since 1964 and opened her own shop in Pitcairn in 1995. Doug is in the real estate and construction business since the 1970's.

Their concern for the community led them to believe that a separate organization, aside from local government - but working with it, was needed to attempt to secure corporate and foundation funding that Council could not access, to help to revitalize our community. This concern led to the formation of Pitcairn Community Renaissance.

Phil Arlia

Phil is the owner of Phil's Pharmacy since 1968. Phil and his wife, Evelyn, have four children; Kim, Phillip, Mary and Eve.

Although Phil does not live in Pitcairn, he makes his living here. This is not the first time Phil has been involved with community development. He helped organize the Pitcairn Progressive Association back in 1984 that resulted in the revitalization of Broadway Boulevard.

Joe Pedulla

Joe is a lifelong resident of Pitcairn. Along with his wife Karen, they have one son, Joseph.

Joe is the owner of Joe's Butcher Shop on Broadway since 1975. Joe was also involved in the Pitcairn Progressive Association and the renovation of the store fronts, sidewalks and lighting on Broadway.

Karen Bova

Karen is a life-long resident of Pitcairn.  She currently resides on Wall Avenue with her husband Jack and their sons Max and Jackson.  Karen is a graduate of Gateway High School and Duquesne University.  She holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology  and a master's degree in Educational Psychology.  Karen has been employed at Duquesne University as a student advisor in the School of Nursing since 1990.

As well as her involvement with the Pitcairn Renaissance Community group, Karen is the secretary for the Board of Healthy Teens Inc., which works to "provide a safe supervised, drug/alcohol/tobacco-free environment for local teens to engage in healthy recreation and after school activities and education."

Judy Donis

Judy has been a resident of Pitcairn since her marriage to John in 1969. John was born and raised in Pitcairn and they both felt it was where they wanted to raise their children. They have two grown children, a daughter who is a teacher and a son who is in banking.

Judy has worked at Pitcairn Borough since 1990. She began working part time and the job eventually turned into a full-time position. Over the years she has volunteered at St. Michaels with their CCD program and she was also very active in the Pitcairn Baseball/Softball Association.

Judy joined the Pitcairn Community Renaissance as their secretary and is looking forward to the growth and success of the organization.

This concern led to the formation of Pitcairn Community Renaissance.

Jim Rullo

Jim is a life-long resident of Pitcairn. Jim and his wife, Yvette, have 2 children, Kelly and Mike and a grandchild, Bailey. Jim has been a member of the Pitcairn Zoning Board of Adjustment since 1968. He is also involved as a life-member of Camp B among other volunteer organizations.
